Entrepreneurial Skills Help Parents Spend More Time With Children

Achieving Success Working From Home Solves the Problem for Kids Who Rarely See Their Parents

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - December 2, 2009) - Both parents working is an economic necessity for many families. But studies show it can be hard on the kids. Entrepreneurial skills may be the solution.

"Parents who learn entrepreneurial skills could spend more time with their children, without a drop in income," said Shane Krider, CEO and founder of international entrepreneurial skills training company Polaris Media Group.

"Some statistics about working parents are astounding," said Krider. "The British Office for National Statistics found that working parents spend an average of 19 minutes a day with their kids. When both parents work, that's dismal."

According to the American Association of University Women, 74% of men and 83% of women would choose a lower paying job that provided family leave, flexible hours, and help with family care. But few employers offer that much support.

Polaris Media Group members Simon & Nyssa Haggard solved the problem by applying entrepreneurial skills.

"We had an average life, living month to month, although our two older children went to a great school and we had nice things. But when we were faced with putting our third child in daycare, we reached a crossroad. That's when we found Polaris Media Group," said Simon.

Within 16 months, their lives had changed considerably.

"We run our lives the way we want; go out for coffee, take our son to the park, go to the gym, get massages and manicures -- all in the middle of the day," said Nyssa. "We both love how happy we've become, every day makes us smile."
