Eptascape Launches Channel Partner Program to Revive CCTV Cameras With Intelligent Video Analytics

Low Voltage Devices Deploys 15 Security Savvy Representative Organizations With 95 Salespeople in US to Sell Eptascape's MPEG-7 ADS-100; Economical Embedded MPEG-7 Video Solution Set to Drive Demand for Surveillance Analytics in Existing Analog Cameras

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 8, 2006 -- Eptascape, the leader in application of MPEG-7 video analytics technology, has launched a channel sales program with Low Voltage Devices (LVD) which will act as a Master Manufacturer's Representative for distributing the revolutionary ADS-100. Eptascape's ADS-100 equips CCTV analog cameras and networks with the analytical intelligence to detect, isolate, and report anomalous events and behaviors. Low Voltage Devices will manage the dealer network by qualifying and enlisting channel partners, providing training and sales support, and managing technical product support.

Eptascape's agreement with LVD launches a comprehensive sales network in North America comprising leading manufacturer's representatives firms qualified in security and video surveillance solutions. Through this channel Eptascape has immediate coast-to-coast sales, marketing and technical support in North America. Already trained, 15 leading Representative Organizations and 95 salespeople have begun leveraging well established customer relationships in every major market in the United States and Canada presenting the ADS-100 MPEG-7 embedded solution to the CCTV market dominated by analog video surveillance cameras. With Eptascape, channel partners and their representatives can offer the current analog infrastructure an option to convert to intelligent video quickly and economically.

"LVD is expediting Eptascape's availability to a marketplace in need of intelligent video surveillance within the existing analog infrastructure," said Eptascape's VP of Business Development Christian McMillan. "We selected LVD for their expertise in the security industry and their flexibility and speed in rolling out a comprehensive channel support program. In confirmation of our choice, initial partner enlistments and sales results have been outstanding."

Eptascape's MPEG-7 technology moves the surveillance industry from pixel-based video to content-based video where objects, events and anomalies are extracted from any scene, so security monitoring can be focused on salient events rather than across a scene. Automating video surveillance eliminates time consuming and daunting tasks like assessing activity on multiple monitors, browsing video, and applying only subjective human judgment. Security is raised both by minimizing human bias and focusing attention precisely on suspicious events. The ADS-100 adapts to any analog camera to enable it to provide scene analysis in real time and record suspicious events, such as trespassing, tailgating, abandoned object, removed object, direction flow, loitering, or crowd formation. Eptascape technology is infinitely scaleable and cost effective, allowing multiple events with multiple schedules to operate on a single camera or across a network of multifarious cameras.

"Eptascape's MPEG-7 embedded solution gives us a new advantage in the marketplace," said Warren and Associates CEO Brad Warren. "Analog cameras prevail among surveillance security cameras, representing substantial investment by our customers. Now we can present an option to capitalize on that existing infrastructure and immediately create intelligent cameras and networks."

According to Marshall Troxell, president of TK Security Group of Dallas, TX, "Our market opportunity to deploy Eptascape's MPEG-7 embedded solution is tremendous. The growing need for intelligent analytics, the economics and ease of installation of the ADS-100, and the predominance of analog cameras in the marketplace is the perfect storm in today's surveillance climate."
