Eskay Team Joined by Geologists Who Discovered Original Eskay Deposit

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 1, 2010) - ESKAY MINING CORP (the "Company" or Eskay)(TSX VENTURE:ESK)(FRANKFURT:878 985)(BERLIN:878 985) is pleased to announce further additions to its senior leadership.

Mr. Chet Idziszek and Mr. David Mallo have joined Eskay's team as members of the Corporation's Advisory Board, effective immediately.

Mr. Idziszek holds a Master of Applied Sciences degree from McGill University and has worked in the mining industry since 1971. He is the President and C.E.O. of Adrian Resources Ltd. (now Petaquilla Minerals) and serves as a director of Lund Gold Ltd., Madison Minerals Inc., and Oromin Explorations Ltd. In 1990, Chet received the "Mining Man of the Year" award in recognition of his role in the discovery and development of the Eskay Creek deposits in Northwestern British Columbia. Chet received the prestigious "Prospector of the Year Award for 1994", again, in recognition of the major role he played in the discovery and development of Eskay Creek, and for his leadership of Adrian Resources Ltd. during its exploration and development of the Petaquilla copper-gold deposits in Panama. As a Director of Arequipa Resources Ltd., Mr. Idziszek participated in Barrick's successful take-over bid in 1996. As President of Oromin Explorations Ltd. he led the exploration team in the discovery and development of OJVG's three million ounce plus gold deposit in Sénégal. Mr. Idziseck is a Member of Society of Economic Geologists, I.A.G.O.D., the Geological Association of Canada, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and is a Fellow of the Geological Society, London.

Mr. Mallo holds a Bachelor of Science (Specialist) degree from Brandon University and has worked as a Geologist and Exploration Manager with numerous international exploration/mining companies since 1981. He is Vice-President of Exploration (Minerals) with Oromin Explorations Ltd., and has played an integral part in the initiation, discovery, exploration and current full feasibility stage of development at the Sabodala Gold Project in Sénégal, West Africa. David was the Manager-Advanced Projects with Prime Explorations Ltd., the organization that was involved in the discovery, exploration and development of the original Eskay Creek deposits. He subsequently served as Executive Vice-President of Exploration for Adrian Resources Ltd., and was involved with various mineral deposit discoveries, exploration and development of the Petaquilla copper-gold and Molejon gold deposits in Panama. Mr. Mallo is a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.
In accepting their appointments to the advisory board, Mr. Idzisek commented that "A dozen different companies optioned and explored the Eskay Creek property north of Stewart, B.C., (See History Section of Companies website) over the past half century before we proved its real potential in the fall of 1988. Eskay is now recognized as being among the most significant discovery in Canada since the Hemlo gold deposits were found. We are excited to be part of a team that sees even more potential than we realized in 1989." Mr. Mallo stated that "The Golden Triangle of BC is back in focus with the work of Silver Standard, Seabridge Gold and Nova gold plus many other juniors, and we aim to add to those efforts."

In announcing the additions to Eskay's Advisory Board, Mac Balkam stated "We promised to assemble the bench strength required to focus on the Company's vast land holdings in the mining district adjoining the world class Eskay Creek Mine. We are thrilled to have Chet and David as a complement to our geological project management team at Cambria Geosciences, led by Paul McGuigan."

Stock Options

ESK has agreed to grant new stock incentive options to purchase up to a total of 600,000 common shares at a price of $0.25 per share for two years expiring March 1, 2012. The shares are trading in the $0.20 cent range, thus the current stock option offering is a 25% premium to the market.
