Europe Could Be '100% Renewable' by 2050, an Industrial Info News Alert

GALWAY, IRELAND--(Marketwire - April 19, 2010) -  Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) -- The European Union could be generating 100% of its electricity demand from renewable sources by 2050, as well as reducing CO2 emissions more than 90% from current levels. The conclusions come from a new report by the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC), an umbrella industry group representing most of Europe's renewable energy associations. Launched in the European Parliament, the "Re-Thinking 2050" report outlines how Europe can move to a completely renewable power base.

IIR's Renewable Energy Database provides extensive coverage on the Wind Energy, Geothermal, Hydroelectric, Landfill Gas-to-Energy and Utility-Scale Solar power plants throughout North America, and is now expanding coverage across the world.
