PLAINVIEW, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 13, 2011) - ZON TVCabo, the leading cable TV provider in Portugal, and NeuLion, Inc. (TSX: NLN), the true end-to-end technology service provider for delivering live and on-demand content to any Internet-enabled device, today announced a new multi-year partnership that will use NeuLion's platform to enhance the reach and penetration of ZON's television content with new forms of distribution.
With this partnership, NeuLion will provide ZON with a complete "TV Everywhere" service delivered through various platforms. The launch will allow ZON's live and on-demand content to reach viewers, for the first time ever, on multiple consumer devices.
ZON is the main Pay-TV operator in Portugal, serving over 1.6 million subscribers. Traditionally served by cable or satellite TV access, subscribers will now be able to choose how, when and where to access their favorite shows and live television channels.
"Following the launch of IRIS, our prize-winning new TV interface, the logical next step is to embrace a multi-platform OTT delivery strategy. In pursuit of a TV Everywhere solution, NeuLion will help us drive penetration into new segments. We are dedicated to staying at the forefront and are relying on our partnership with NeuLion to achieve that," said Nuno Sanches, Director, Television Products at ZON.
