European Countries Told to Update Grids Together, an Industrial Info News Alert

GALWAY, IRELAND--(Marketwire - June 16, 2010) -  Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) -- The large-scale integration of renewable energy into Europe's electricity mix is not going to be possible unless grid modernisation is planned on a pan-European scale. Organisations supporting the wind industry and European electricity suppliers have joined together to call on the European Commission member states and regulators to adopt a 'truly European approach' to planning grids. Without this wider approach, the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) (Brussels, Belgium) and Eurelectric (Brussels) claimed that Europe may not reach its 2020 renewable energy targets.

IIR's Renewable Energy Database provides extensive coverage on the Wind Energy, Geothermal, Hydroelectric, Landfill Gas-to-Energy and Utility-Scale Solar power plants throughout North America, and is now expanding coverage across the world.
