Eventbrite Issues Its 50 Millionth Ticket, Serving a Global Community of Event Organizers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 22, 2012) - Eventbrite announced today that event organizers around the world have issued 50 million tickets and registrations using the self-service platform, since the company's founding in 2006. In 2011 the company experienced year over year doubling across key metrics for the business. The number of events posted on Eventbrite doubled: from 222,353 posted in 2010 to 458,207 in 2011. And the number of tickets issued doubled as well: from 11,004,743 in 2010 to 20,798,509 in 2011.

This exponential growth and global adoption confirms the universal need for a platform that makes it easy to create event pages, capture attendee information, leverage social media for promotion, and accept payments. Organizers use Eventbrite to ticket events of all sizes and types -- from small classes for a handful of people, to concerts and conventions for tens of thousands of attendees. With a second office in London, the company has accelerated European and international expansion, delivering localized products in several new markets. By the end of March, the company will launch its first translated products in French-speaking Canada, France and Spain.
