Evolving Systems' Porting Gateway Solution Helps Customers Manage Accelerated Number Portability

FCC Ruling Reduces Number Portability Interval From Four Days to One Day

ENGLEWOOD, CO--(Marketwire - March 24, 2010) -  Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: EVOL), a leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and cable markets, today announced it has entered into contracts with three of its U.S. customers to address accelerated number porting intervals and comply with new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) orders.

On May 13, 2009, the United States FCC adopted an order decreasing the number porting interval for the majority of fixed line and intermodal ports, such as wireline to wireless, from four days to one day, and imposed an aggressive timeline for operators to comply with the newly reduced intervals. As a major supplier of number porting solutions to fixed line operators in the U.S., Evolving Systems worked with operators and standards committees to ensure all the necessary updates will be available to its customers to meet the announced deadlines.

"We are pleased to have signed contracts with three of our key customers for extensions to our OrderPath® porting gateway in support of the new FCC requirements. Our portfolio of number portability solutions provides our customers with the ability to rapidly comply with external changes without making significant changes to their internal systems," Steve Farnsworth, VP of Number Management Solutions, remarked. "We continue to see the telecommunications network evolve, and we expect that as additional changes are adopted, our customers will rely on our solutions to keep pace with these changes."
