Ex-Apple Marketer Joins Vision Critical's Product Innovation Team

Key hire is next step in company's game plan for continued investment in product development, improvement and innovation.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 29, 2010) - After revealing last week its aggressive plan to double investments in product development, Vision Critical today announced a new role dedicated to bringing the latest technology for creating and managing surveys to market. Former Kantar Worldpanel director and Apple marketing manager Steven Davis has been hired as Director of Product Innovation. Davis brings a keen understanding of global research strategy and product positioning to Vision Critical – the industry pioneer in interactive research technology.

Davis joins the innovation team as the company prepares to release five new products throughout the spring and summer: IdeaScreenPlus, ShelfsetPlus, ReactionPlus, SatisfactionPlus and Firefly Surveys – Vision Critical's highly anticipated new survey tool. Firefly Surveys will be the world's first and only collaborative ad-hoc survey tool for enterprise researchers. It's a breakthrough for real-time team productivity and is set to launch in June. 

All five new products come directly from the company's Innovation Centre – a pioneering division, located in Vancouver, Canada, that develops and oversees global product initiatives. This team packages the latest technologies – including new features on the company's market-leading Sparq platform – with the appropriate services to keep clients at the forefront of online research.

After relocating from London to Vancouver, Davis is already embedded in the Innovation Centre, applying his extensive development and marketing expertise to the full product portfolio. Davis honed his skills as the Senior Marketing Manager for Apple in South Africa, and holds an MBA degree from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria. He's also an accomplished athlete who played on the Canadian National Field Hockey team from 1994 to 2004 and launched a successful field hockey equipment company.
