Experian QAS Releases Latest Research Report: The Impact of Contact Data Quality

Organizations Highlight Data Accuracy as Essential Issue but Cite Budget and Staff Errors as Key Barriers to Accuracy

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - August 25, 2010) -  Experian® QAS®, a leading provider of address verification software and services, today announced the release of The Impact of Contact Data Quality, a new report examining organizations' attitudes toward data quality.

The study reveals that while 96.2 percent of organizations view data accuracy as an essential issue, nearly one-third of them don't enforce it. When describing the level of quality in their contact data, more than half of the respondents claim that at least 6 percent or more of their database contains inaccurate or missing important information.

"While contact data quality is becoming a priority as businesses focus on customer loyalty and retention, stakeholders are finding difficulty implementing projects due to cost constraints," says Joel Curry, chief operating officer, Experian QAS. "To overcome this obstacle, organizations should review common quality issues with data and prioritize projects based on their positive return on investment."

Every year, businesses waste too many resources on inaccurate data. The study also found that the primary reasons for maintaining quality contact records were to enhance customer satisfaction, to increase efficiency, to reduce costs and to capitalize on market opportunities through customer profiling.
