FLIR Systems Announces $13 Million Order From the Colombian Ministry of Defense


PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - January 15, 2008) - FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has received a $13 million order from the Colombian Ministry of Defense for its Star SAFIRE® HD stabilized, multi-sensor systems. The units delivered under this order will be used by the Colombian Air Force onboard helicopters in performance of national security and counter-narcotic missions.

This competitively awarded program validates the expanding requirements for FLIR's technology in the international defense marketplace. FLIR was chosen for the Star SAFIRE® HD's system performance as well as the Company's regional support capabilities. The Star SAFIRE® is a 3rd generation system, providing a fully digital high-definition image from all of its imaging sensors in an environmentally rugged design. Customer support, training, and integration services will be performed from FLIR's licensed maintenance facility located in Bogota, Colombia.

Work will be performed at FLIR's facility in Portland, Oregon. Deliveries are expected to take place during the second half of 2008.
