The release introduces the Arena Secure Drop Box, along with rapid data loading, validation and integrity-checking tools that allow Arena to be deployed faster than any comparable solution for even the most complex small and mid-size manufacturers.

The Arena Secure Drop Box provides an easy and secure way for new customers to get their data loaded into the Arena application by enabling them to drag and drop files -- like spreadsheet bills of materials (BOMs), CAD files, images and more -- into a locally mounted folder on their desktop. Those files are transmitted securely and instantly to Arena, where an automated process validates, error-checks and normalizes the data before uploading it into the customer's proprietary workspace in the Arena application. The Arena Secure Drop Box eliminates the hassle and risk of sharing large files via email, FTP or the handover of a physical drive. From the time a company provides its data, that data can be live in Arena in less than a day.

While the Arena Secure Drop Box simplifies and speeds the process of getting started with Arena, other improvements in the Fall 09 release make it easier than ever to learn and use the application. The release expands the training offerings from Arena by introducing live online classes and task-based tutorials that show how to use Arena to streamline daily activities and reduce busywork. Combined with an extensive catalog of existing on-demand training classes, these new offerings enable companies to train all members of their product teams whenever it's most convenient. The release also adds more than 50 enhancements to the application, including navigation shortcuts, next-step guidance and tools for bulk actions and editing that improve ease of use for novice and experienced users alike.
