Far West Announces Drill Program at Georgetown Silver-Lead-Zinc Project, Queensland, Australia

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - July 28, 2009) - Far West Mining Ltd. (TSX:FWM) is pleased to announce that a drill program is scheduled to commence at the Georgetown Silver-Lead-Zinc Project in Queensland, Australia in the second week of August. The program is designed to test several exciting gravity anomalies that were identified by a ground geophysical survey conducted in April 2009.

In April 2009, Far West Mining ("The Company") conducted a high resolution ground gravity geophysical survey at the Robin Hood prospect to follow up the encouraging 2008 drill results (see news release dated December 15, 2008) which showed strong alteration and low grade mineralization in four drill holes.

The gravity survey covered an area of 1.5 sq km and returned several exciting anomalies to the south of the 2008 drill holes. The anomalies were modeled at shallow depth and dipping steeply over a strike length of several hundred metres. The geophysical response indicates unusually high rock densities consistent with or indicative of the targeted Broken Hill Type (BHT) mineralization. The gravity anomalies are located close to small outcrops of high grade mineralization as reported in the December 15, 2008 news release.

The Company anticipates the program will consist of five to ten drill holes that will be drilled to a depth of between 200m and 350m. The total number of drill holes will depend on the results obtained.

The in-house qualified person responsible for the Project is Richard Zimmer, P.Eng., Chief Executive Officer, President and a director of the Company who has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release.
