Federal Court Rejects Request to Appeal Tonbridge Power's NEB Permit for Montana Alberta Tie Ltd.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 1, 2007) - Tonbridge Power Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TBZ) ("Tonbridge Power" or the "Company"), 100% controlling shareholder of the Montana Alberta Tie Ltd. ("MATL") transmission line project to interconnect the electricity markets of Alberta and the US through a 300 MW transmission line is pleased to announce that the Federal Court of Appeal has rejected a Canadian environmentalist's effort to appeal the National Energy Board's (NEB) approval of the Montana Alberta Tie Ltd. (MATL) power line project between Lethbridge, Alberta and Great Falls, Montana.

In a two-sentence order issued September 26, 2007 the court also ordered Brian Staszenski to pay MATL's costs incurred because of his failed attempt to appeal.

The court ruled that Staszenski had provided no legal grounds for an appeal consideration, and that there were "serious doubts" as to whether he even had legal standing to appeal the NEB decision granting MATL a permit to build the line.

Bob Williams, Vice President, Regulatory for MATL, said Monday that the decision was a clear victory for the project, a 230 kilowatt merchant transmission line. "This was a clear rejection by the court," Williams said. "In very plain language, the court said he had no case and didn't even have standing to seek an appeal."

In April, 2007 The National Energy Board granted MATL a permit to build the line which will be the first electrical interconnection between Alberta and neighboring Montana.

Williams noted that the process leading up to the NEB's approval was very public and that MATL remains committed to that concept as the project moves forward. "We've had a tremendous, genuine dialogue with members of the public on both sides of the border on this project and it has served all parties well," Williams said. "We are committed to the ideal of decision through civil debate."

Alberta Energy and Utility Board hearings on MATL's application to operate the line will be held in Lethbridge Alberta beginning October 16.
