Ferrari Driving School: Don't Limit Safety to Cars, Trucks

Vespas, Scooters and Bikes, Oh My!!!

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 1, 2008) - With some experts predicting gasoline as high as $4.00 a gallon by summer, New York City drivers are considering alternatives to their automobiles for Travel around town. Michelangelo Pinto, the Director of Operations for the Ferrari Driving School, is concerned about the manner in which these alternative means of transportation may be operated.

"We have skyrocketing gasoline prices. Additionally, in Manhattan, the specter of congestion pricing has cost conscientious people concerned. Between higher gas prices and a surcharge to get around the city during peak hours, people are seeking ways to lower the cost of travel. For many this means scooters, bicycles; those types of low cost alternatives. What we have to remember is that safe driving practices must not be limited to cars and trucks," said Pinto.

Ferrari Driving School is the oldest driving school in the New York Metropolitan area. This year, it celebrates 40 years in business. Ferrari Driving School has made a name for itself teaching people how to drive personal passenger vehicles, as well as trucks, vans, limousines, taxis, etc. The school prides itself on training individuals to be safe drivers and has taken the lead in eradicating unsafe driving with their DUI Driving is not Kool program.

"I am all for people finding less expensive ways to get around town. For some this will mean using buses and subways, and certainly that is an option. However, there are those people who want to maintain their travel independence and they are, and will, increasingly use Vespas, scooters and motorized bikes as low cost alternatives to cars. Congestion pricing, if it does happen, will probably exclude those kinds of vehicles. Our concern is that safe driving and driver training is made mandatory for everyone who drives a motorized vehicle."

Ferrari Driving School has developed programs specifically for people to train and be licensed for scooters, so that they can travel safely, while saving money.
