Finavera Renewables and Saulteau First Nations Sign Relationship Protocol

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 25, 2008) - Finavera Renewables Inc. ('Finavera Renewables' or the 'Company') (TSX VENTURE:FVR) is pleased to announce it has signed a Relationship Protocol with the Saulteau First Nations in British Columbia, Canada. The protocol will guide communication activities and efforts to build trust and sustain a unique long-term working relationship as the Company develops 295 megawatts of wind energy projects in the Peace Region of British Columbia.

Saulteau First Nations and Finavera Renewables agree to work together to begin to address the priorities identified by both parties such as:

- Land and resources management as it pertains to the location and access to the wind energy project sites within Treaty 8 Territory.

- Lands Office support to address capacity issues associated with the Environmental Assessment of Finavera's proposed Wind Energy Projects.

- Employment and economic benefits by enhancing employment and contracting opportunities for Saulteau First Nations people throughout the various phases of development of Finavera Renewables proposed wind energy Projects, and to identify economic development opportunities based on the principle of mutual benefit.

- Culture and Indigenous knowledge will be respected and incorporated into the Finavera Renewables proposed wind energy Projects as the information becomes available. Finavera commits to respecting Saulteau First Nations cultural and traditional values.

- Environmental values will be addressed and the two parties will work together to minimize the environmental impacts of their respective activities and to rehabilitate the environment where possible. Both parties commit their mutual support to protecting the natural environment through respectful, sustainable clean energy project development, and avoiding detrimental environmental impacts for the benefit of all.
