First Charter Banks on Reflex Security for Network Intrusion Prevention

ATLANTA, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 24, 2006 -- Since installing the Reflex Security ThreatIQ suite to protect its network, the benefits First Charter Bank has accrued by having a protected network have grown exponentially. The large North Carolina financial services company selected the Reflex Security intrusion prevention solution for its headquarters and statewide deployment within its network of branch offices.

With 58 financial centers, four insurance offices, multiple loan origination office locations and masses of confidential information to protect, First Charter required a network security solution that would not only be accurate in detection and easy to use, but could also manage a large variety of locations from a central console. Additionally, another requirement was to have an extensible IPS with extra security features such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, and detailed reporting features. After tallying up the available alternatives, Reflex Security, with its breadth of products and award-winning IPS, was the obvious choice.

"Reflex Security was the solution that offered us the best set of network security features with the best return on investment," said Scott North, Senior Vice President at First Charter. "To comply with regulatory requirements from laws and acts like GLBA, we needed a security solution in place that would detect unauthorized access and malicious network traffic and would automatically mitigate them, all while providing a record of actions taken."

The Reflex Security ThreatIQ suite is modular and extensible, incorporating the Reflex IPS, Network Discovery and Network Defender modules, and can be updated on-the-fly with additional modules such as anti-virus and anti-spyware. Powered by Sentrium™ solid-state technology, the solution offers accurate, robust security that can adapt to dynamic dangers and the reliability of a diskless architecture.

"Network security is paramount to business continuity, especially for financial institutions," said Jim Watson, CEO of Reflex Security. "We're delighted to have First Charter recognize the value and benefits our intrusion prevention solution provides. Even third party groups have pointed this out, such as SC Magazine, by recently awarding Reflex Security its winning Best Buy recognition from its 2006 IPS group test, beating out over 11 other intrusion prevention solutions."
