First Combined eTail and eComXpo Virtual E-Commerce Event Draws Record Attendance at World's Largest Online Show

Online Event Draws More Than 9,000 Visits and Over 130 Exhibitors

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - August 12, 2008) - The power of virtual conferences was demonstrated last month as attendance at the first combined eTail and eComXpo exceeded all expectations, according to the event organizer, Worldwide Business Research (WBR), the world's biggest large-scale events organizer. The 100 percent online virtual event was held July 9-10, 2008 and is available through October 11, 2008 in an online archive.

WBR launched eTail Xpo as its first virtual event for multi-channel retailers, and combined it with eComXpo, an online meeting place for ecommerce, search, interactive and affiliate marketers. WBR is offering the eTail/eComXpo virtual event as a supplement to its traditional eTail trade shows.

Last month's event marked the seventh virtual gathering of eComXpo, which is ranked as the number one organic search listing on Google out of more than 500,000 listings for the key phrase "virtual trade show." Some of the most well-known names in e-commerce sponsored virtual booths at the show, including Google, eBay, Digital River, Bill Me Later, Verizon, CA, EMI Music, Experian QAS, Upromise and the USPS.

"We are very pleased with the phenomenal success of the combined eTail/eComXpo," said Amit Das, managing director, WBR. "Thanks to the strength of our own marketing, the support of key sponsors, and the high caliber of speakers and presentations, we were able to drive hundreds of valuable leads to each of the exhibitors. With InXpo as our technology partner, we provided attendees with all the rich learning and networking opportunities of a physical event, yet they never had to leave their homes or offices."

Das reported that the functionality of the virtual event made it simple to interact with exhibitors and other participants. The average attendee spent nearly three hours at eTail/eComXpo, which represents a 30-minute increase over the last eComXpo held in October 2007. More than 10,000 online chats took place during eTail/eComXpo, and 80,000 virtual business cards were exchanged. Survey results indicate this show delivered the most qualified attendees to date, further reflecting the power of the eTail brand and their ability to connect decision makers with solution providers.

"WBR's success with its combined eTail/eComXpo indicates the huge market demand for virtual events, which eliminate the financial and productivity costs associated with business travel and lodging," said Malcolm Lotzof, CEO of InXpo. "WBR is making a substantial commitment to producing virtual events because they have proven to be valuable branding and marketing tools for businesses seeking innovative ways to cut costs and to supplement or enhance their traditional events and trade shows."

WBR and InXpo are planning three more virtual events for the first quarter of 2009.
