First Interactive IT Asset Management Knowledge Base Measures Performance and Automatically Creates Best Practice Roadmaps

IAITAM Delivers ITAM 360™, Providing Enterprise-Wide Business Intelligence and Transparency

SUFFIELD, OH--(Marketwire - February 2, 2010) - ITAM 360™ -- the first hosted, interactive IT asset management (ITAM) knowledge base and assessment system -- was unveiled today by the International Association of IT Asset Managers, Inc. (IAITAM).

The first of its kind, this knowledge base covers both software and hardware asset management business practices and creates an easy to understand, graphical interface based on collected ITAM data from the industry. Through this online service, senior executives and administrators may access a wide variety of information from results of the IT organization's business gap analysis to business intelligence on software assets. ITAM 360 is the culmination of eight years of IT Asset Management industry leadership, six years of best practice research as well as the practical experiences from thousands of members and class participants worldwide.

ITAM 360 key features include:

--  Assessment. ITAM 360 begins with a guided assessment function, where
    answers are evaluated by best practice experts at IAITAM and a weighted
    score is delivered, which represents the maturity level of the
    organization's program as a whole and for each key process area. With
    the initial assessment as a baseline, users of ITAM 360 will implement
    changes based on the practices described in the knowledge base and then
    be able to assess again to validate progress.

--  Performance Model. The performance model allows the individual key
    process area to be evaluated and measured independently as well as
    compared to the industry's overall rating. ITAM 360 delves into the 12
    key process areas of ITAM and provides easy cross-referencing between
    process areas. The 12 key areas are acquisition management, asset
    identification, communication and education, compliance management,
    disposal management, documentation management, financial management,
    legislation management, policy management, program management, project
    management and vendor management as per the IAITAM Best Practice
    Library imbedded knowledge base.

--  Standards Integration. ITAM 360 easily integrates and shows how models
    such as the Information Technology Infrastructure Library® (ITIL®)
    and standards such as the ISO/IEC for software asset management are
    helping to close the knowledge gap.
