First Liberty Power Corp. Announces Exploration Program for Lida Valley Nevada Lithium Prospect

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - April 14, 2010) -  First Liberty Power Corp. (OTCBB: FLPC) is pleased to announce today its planned upcoming work program for the Lida Valley Lithium Brine Prospect (the "LVW claims"). This recently acquired property covers 12,800 acres and is strategically located in Esmeralda County, Nevada.

The LVW claims share a similar geology and weathering history to nearby Clayton Valley, and the LVW claims are located within 15 miles of the Montezuma Peak, which is believed to be the source of the regions lithium. The north end of Clayton Valley hosts Chemetall Foote Corporation's Silver Peak Mine, the only lithium brine producer in the United States. Mine production comes from a lithium enriched brine located below the surface. This plant has been in production since 1967 and is designed to produce up to 1.2 million kilograms of lithium hydroxide per annum.

The initial phase of the exploration program will consists of a complete gravity survey over the claim area to determine the depths of the basin and delineate troughs or traps that might contain economic values and concentrations of lithium brines. Work is scheduled to begin in early May 2010 and will be results-driven. The project, including mobilization-demobilization, should take approximately 16 days for field completion and another 30 days for the interpretation and final report.

If results from the gravity surveys are deemed successful, a controlled source audio magnetotellurics /magentotellurics (CAMT/MT) method would be recommended as the next step to define brine filled layers and bedrock within the basin.

Mr. Jim Hasbrouck, Hasbrouck Geophysics, Inc., Prescott, Arizona, has recommended one kilometre line spacing and one kilometre stations for a total of about 125 gravity stations (based on approximately 115 line kilometres). The gravity data will be acquired with a leased LaCoste and Romberg Model G gravity meter.

The data will be processed using the GravMaster computer software developed by GeoTools Corporation with field estimation of terrain corrections to Hammer Zone C and the use of DEMs to Hammer Zones M. Deliverables will include Bouguer Anomaly sections along each line, a three-dimensional compilation of those results, and a final report detailing the methodology, data acquisition, processing and interpretation. Mr. Hasbrouck will process and interpret the data, and prepare the final report.

Mr. Hasbrouck graduated in 1974 from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden Colorado, with a B.Sc in Geophysical Engineering. He has been practising in his profession since 1969, is a licensed Professional Geophysicist in the State of California, and formed Hasbrouck Geophysics Inc., an Arizona corporation, in 1996 and acts as its President. He has conducted well over 100 groundwater and mineral exploration geophysical surveys throughout the world, with an emphasis on the western portion of the United States. Geophysical exploration for Clayton Valley and surrounding areas lithium brine deposits involves a similar approach as when searching groundwater or minerals.

In 2009, Hasbrouck Geophysics, working with GeoXplor Corp., acquired more than 330 line-km (205 line-miles) of gravity data, 3.6 line-km (2.24 line-miles) of high-resolution reflection seismic data and 34 deep electromagnetic soundings for lithium brine exploration in Clayton Valley and surrounding areas. Several drill targets were located on the basis of the geophysical data and successful holes were drilled. Hasbrouck Geophysics and GeoXplor Corp. have more experience than any other companies in designing and conducting successful exploration programs for lithium brine exploration in Nevada.

First Liberty Power Corp. President and CEO Glyn R. Garner comments, "We are excited about the upcoming work program and are committed to keeping our shareholders informed of our progress. Further reports on the program are expected to be released over the coming weeks."

First Liberty Power Corp. is a Nevada based mineral exploration company with a primary focus on lithium and vanadium exploration and development in the United States. The Company is positioned to capitalize on the anticipated increase in demand for both lithium carbonate and vanadium that is projected to result from the adoption and use of clean renewable energy that will fuel demand for products that utilize lithium-ion batteries and vanadium redox batteries.
