FirstGrowth Announces Appointment to Advisory Board

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 9, 2007) - FirstGrowth (TSX VENTURE:FGC)(FRANKFURT:G8Q)(OTCBB:FGCDF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Richard DeVries, B. Com, LL.B., to its Technical Advisory Board.

Mr. DeVries has practiced law in Calgary, Alberta since 1977. He was the founder of the law firm of Hess DeVries in 1985 and currently is the owner of the law firm of Richard W. DeVries Professional Corporation, the practice of which is focused primarily upon corporate finance, wealth preservation and tax and estate planning, both domestically and internationally. Mr. DeVries has been and continues to be a director of numerous private and public companies. In addition to being an active member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta since 1977, Mr. DeVries is also a member of the Calgary Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Mr. DeVries has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (1974) as well as a Bachelor of Law Degree (1977), both from the University of Alberta.

Mr. DeVries joins the following Advisory Board members:

Dr. Zoltan Hajnal, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Geophysics, University of Saskatchewan

Dr. Hajnal has over 40 years experience and is a leading expert in the seismic interpretation of "hard rock" geology. Dr. Hajnal graduated in Geophysics in 1961 with a Bachelor of Engineering and in 1963 with M.Sc. from the University of Saskatchewan. He received his Ph.D., also in Geophysics, in 1970 from the University of Manitoba.

Mr. Richard Burke, B.A.Sc., MBA, P.Eng.(retired)

Mr. Burke is the founder and President of Gulf West BioFuels, a development stage company involved in the development and operation of plants converting biomass to ethanol using thermal/catalytic technologies. Mr. Burke has a broad background in management, corporate finance and venture capital investment. Mr. Burke also has direct experience in biomass gasification and the development of liquid fuel projects. In the 1980s he was actively involved in the investment side of the oil and gas business in Alberta, and was Chairman of Digitech Ltd., a major seismic data gathering and processing company, which later merged with Veritas to become Veritas DGC. Veritas DGC was acquired by Compagnie Generale de Geophysique in September 2006 for US 3.1 billion dollars and currently operates as CGGVeritas. Mr. Burke was also a director of Canadian Foremost Ltd., Corod, Ltd. and several successful junior oil and gas companies.

Mr. Martin J. Doane

Founding Partner & CEO, Ubequity Capital Inc.

Mr. Doane, brings 16 years' experience as a lawyer and well over a decade of activity in the corporate finance, M&A, and venture capital fields. He has previously served as the Managing Director of another merchant bank, and in director and advisory capacities with a variety of private and public enterprises in the technology, financial services, media, natural resources and professional services areas.

In his legal career, Martin has been a partner at leading Canadian national and boutique firms. He engaged in a diverse litigation practice, involving significant work in the areas of corporate, employment, constitutional, securities and class action litigation. He appeared as counsel at all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has dozens of reported decisions to his credit. He is a published author and frequent speaker on numerous legal subjects, and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

In 2002, Martin was awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal of Queen Elizabeth II, for his exemplary contribution to Canadian life.
