Focus Enhancements and Showlogix Create a Multi-Sensory Experience in the 4D Theater

Showlogix Selects the Focus Gemini 2 Universal Media Card for Its Logix-4D Software

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwire - October 30, 2007) - Focus Enhancements Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in media management and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, today announced it is powering the latest advancement in cinema entertainment -- 4D theater -- as the Gemini 2 Universal Media Card has successfully been incorporated in the Logix-4D software system from Showlogix.

4D theaters create a multi-sensory experience that is changing the way people watch movies. By employing unique special effects that are synchronized with events on the screen, 4D theaters let audiences viscerally experience the rumbling of an earthquake, wind gusts on a mountain peak, or the scent of a rose. The technology is becoming increasingly popular at theme parks, museums, visitor centers, casinos, and more.

The Logix-4D software gives traditional and mobile theater operators a turnkey solution for transforming their theaters into 4D. Intuitive drag-and-drop software interface lets users drag the effect of choice into timeline and test the result in real time. Since it was first introduced one month ago, the Logix-4D solution has been implemented in three 4D cinemas in Greece, Romania, and Israel.

"Showlogix is on the leading-edge of global 4D applications, and we're excited about the company's decision to integrate the Gemini 2 Universal Media Card media card in its solution," said Daniel Lo, senior product manager for Focus Enhancements' media delivery solutions. "As a technology partner, we are looking forward to helping Showlogix meet the growing demand for their creative 4D applications."

"Our goal was to create a high quality show control system that can play two or more high definition streams, all from one box. We chose Gemini 2 based on its superior video quality, perfect AV and cross channel synchronization, as well as overall platform robustness," said Eli Geffen, CEO of Showlogix. "And the media card's built-in scalar allows us to market our system to venues that use lower cost projectors, in addition to the targeted high-end 3D cinemas."

Part of Focus Enhancements' Gemini Universal Media Card family, the Gemini 2 card delivers outstanding visual clarity and digital sound in interactive applications and full-motion video displays. The card supports two independent MPEG-2 channels for standard- and high-definition hardware decoding, and offers the ability to process high-resolution, 32-bit graphics and video simultaneously -- including still, full-motion, and standard- and high-definition video.
