For Third Year CH2M HILL Achieves Top Ranking Among U.S. Environmental Firms

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - August 4, 2008) - For the third consecutive year, CH2M HILL has achieved the number one ranking as the top U.S. environmental firm in Engineering News-Record's (ENR) annual Top 200 Environmental Firms list.

Additionally, CH2M HILL was ranked in the top five in several subcategories, including water supply/treatment, wastewater treatment, consulting/studies, nuclear waste cleanup, engineering/design, environmental science, and construction/remediation.

--  Program manager for Masdar City, the world's first zero-carbon, zero-
    waste city. Located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the six square kilometer
    alternative energy city will establish a world-class standard for
    implementing integrated sustainable technologies by accelerating the
    development and adoption of technologies in renewable energy, energy
    efficiency, carbon management, waste management and water usage.
--  Program manager for the historic 32-kilometer Thames Tideway Tunnel
    Program to capture sewer discharges in London's deepest ever tunnel and
    transfer it for treatment.
--  Managing the Navy's largest ongoing munitions cleanup on Vieques,
    CH2M HILL is overseeing the removal and disposal of locating, safely
    detonating and disposing of unexploded ordnances in environmentally-
    responsible ways to clean up this former Navy Atlantic training site.
--  Designing the Round Butte Dam Selective Water Withdrawal tower, one of
    the largest, most complex and innovative surface collectors in the world,
    the 270-foot water withdrawal tower will be placed underwater to provide
    temperature control and attraction flow for fish passage.
--  Providing North Hudson Sewerage Authority in Hoboken, New Jersey
    design, bid and procurement services for Adams Street Wastewater Treatment
    Plant, including installing a solar system that produces approximately
    186,000 KWh of electric energy per year to power the plant.
--  Program manager for the $2.9 billion, 7-year environmental cleanup of
    the Idaho National Laboratory. The project involves the decommissioning and
    demolition of more than 200 structures, including 10 high-risk facilities
    containing highly radioactive hot cells and three test reactors, spent
    nuclear fuel storage ponds and radioactive-materials labs.
--  Nuclear operations management at the high-level radioactive waste tank
    farms at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington. The tank farms are
    the U.S. government's largest and most complex nuclear liability
    representing more than 60 percent of all high-level radioactive waste in
    the United States by curie content stored in 177 underground tanks.
