Former Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa for Research in Motion Joins Tranzeo Wireless Board

PITT MEADOWS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 22, 2010) - Tranzeo Wireless Technologies Inc. (TSX:TZT), a leading producer of high-performance wireless broadband and WiMAX communication systems, announces the appointment of Mr. Chris Burke to the Company's board of directors.

Mr. Burke has spent over 27 years in the telecommunications industry in a career spanning Europe and North America. He most recently held the position of Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa ("EMEA") for Research in Motion ("RIM") where he was responsible for RIM's EMEA businesses, including its growth targets and all sales activities. Mr. Burke's responsibilities included managing the company's expansion into new markets and establishing strategic partnerships across the EMEA region. Mr. Burke previously founded an investment fund and advisory business focused on the telecommunications sector in 2004 and has returned to manage this business following his departure from RIM in 2009. Mr. Burke was the Chief Technology Office of Vodafone UK Ltd. from 2001 to 2004 where he was responsible for all Vodafone UK's technology and product architecture, design, procurement, development, support and operations. Mr. Burke was the Chief Technical Officer and Chief Information Officer of Energis plc from 1997 to 2000 where he was responsible for all technical, product and service related technical activities. Mr. Burke holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and was employed with various business units of Nortel from graduation in 1982 through to 1997.

Mr. Burke also holds board positions with the following companies:

  • Chairman of Connectivity Ltd., a U.K. based mobility directory and directory assistance company,
  • Chairman of Pretty Green, a U.K. based online celebrity backed fashion based retailer,
  • Director of Dialog Semiconductor, a mobile device power management company traded on the Nasdaq and Frankfurt stock exchanges,
  • Director of One Access, a French based business engaged in providing routers for carriers, and
  • Director of Ymogen, a U.K. based business engaged in groupware content creation.
