Former "Supermax" Warden Strengthens GE Homeland Protection Team

Robert Hood Joins as Homeland Protection Strategic Counselor to Corrections and High-Security Facility Leaders

BRADENTON, FL--(Marketwire - September 26, 2007) - GE Security, Inc., a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of the General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE), today announced that Robert Hood, retired warden of the "Supermax," super-maximum security federal penitentiary in Colorado, has joined GE's Homeland Protection business as an expert strategic counselor on security challenges facing corrections facilities and other high-security installations.

Hood managed the country's highest security prison and supervised some of the world's most dangerous and escape-prone criminals including 1993 World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef, Unabomber Ted Kaczynski and Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols. While warden, Mr. Hood led various projects to integrate state-of-the-art detection and monitoring technologies for inmates requiring an exceptionally secure environment.

He is a graduate of Rowan State University in New Jersey and completed a master's degree in education at Trenton State College as well as graduate studies in criminology and corrections at Sam Houston State University in Texas.
