Fortinet Adds Ingram Micro and Tech Data to Distribution Line-Up; Enhances Channel Partner Programs and Organization

New Distributors, Partner Programs and Channel Personnel Help Extend Fortinet's Market Footprint

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - October 9, 2007) - Fortinet, the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions, today announced it has entered into North American agreements with two of the world's largest technology distributors -- Ingram Micro and Tech Data, improved its FortiPartner program with new terms, added a new direct marketing reseller (DMR) program, and increased the number of dedicated Fortinet channel resources by more than 120 percent. These initiatives enable Fortinet to improve sales efficiencies, support and recruit high-quality solution provider partners, and better take advantage of available opportunities across all market sectors and channels.

World-Class Distribution Partnerships

Expanding its network of North America technology distributors, Fortinet has partnered with Ingram Micro, the world's largest technology distributor, and Tech Data Corp., a leading distributor of information technology (IT) products. Ingram Micro and Tech Data will distribute Fortinet's entire line of network security solutions -- including the market-leading FortiGate™ family of multi-threat security appliances, FortiMail™ secure messaging appliances, FortiManager™ centralized management appliances, FortiAnalyzer™ logging, reporting and analysis appliances and FortiClient™ endpoint security software.

These new partnerships enable Fortinet to extend its reach to new solution providers across all relative market segments and improve sales operations efficiency. In turn, Tech Data and Ingram Micro will expand their security product offerings to include the world's leading UTM appliances and an array of other Fortinet network security solutions.

"Fortinet has evolved into a world-class network security provider and requires world-class distribution partners," said Michael Valentine, Fortinet's vice president of Americas channel sales. "While Ingram Micro and Tech Data each provide unique benefits, both offer premier distribution, integration and operational expertise, and expansive networks of resellers across SMB, enterprise and government and education sectors. We carefully selected these partners based on their ability to align well with our current and future channel strategy and provide a scalable path for continued growth."

Program Enhancements

A reflection of Fortinet's continued investment in its channel, the company is making the following enhancements to benefit its channel partners:

-- Deal Registration -- Fortinet has enhanced the deal registration
element of its FortiPartner program -- making it easier and more efficient
for partners to use. Additionally, new deal registration requirements have
been re-defined to flexibly fit with the varied needs of its partners.

-- Direct Marketing Reseller (DMR) Program -- Recognizing that a growing
number of small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) prefer to purchase
technology products through DMRs via catalogue, online or over the
telephone, Fortinet has added a new DMR Partner Program specifically suited
to meet the needs of this go-to-market strategy.

-- Expanded Dedicated Channel Team -- Fortinet has recently expanded its
team of dedicated North American channel resources by more than 120
percent. This expansion includes the creation of a dedicated channel
organization with newly created distribution and inside channel account
management teams and increased field channel account management and channel
marketing resources -- providing partners with enhanced access and support
    directly from Fortinet.

"Fortinet is committed to meeting the varied needs of our channel partners at all levels and making it easy and rewarding to do business with us," continued Valentine. "The recent enhancements to our North America channel programs, partnerships and organization are intended to improve business efficiency and maximize business potential and success for our channel partners and for Fortinet."
