Mr. Ian Slater, President and CEO of Fortress Minerals, commented, "The spectacular results encountered in hole PDSC-111, which was drilled 130 metres north of the zone of higher grades previously encountered at Elena, indicates that excellent potential exists to expand resources within the Elena area. Our exploration team continues to discover new zones of mineralization on the Svetloye license and management is increasingly confident that the Svetloye deposit has world class potential".

Sixty-one diamond drill holes totalling 8,306 metres have been completed this year at Svetloye. Including these ten drill holes, results for 41 drill holes have been released to date. Additional results will be released as they become available.

In hole PDSC-111, the interval from 11.40 to 12.80 metres assayed 923 g/t gold. This was reduced to 26.3 g/t gold, which is the average grade of the intervals above and below for the purposes of grade calculations reported herein. Metallic screen analysis will be completed on this interval at ALS Chemex in Vancouver, B.C.

Work on the Svetloye project has identified a 7-square-kilometre zone of epithermal gold mineralization. Gold is associated with extensive zones of vuggy silica, alunite and late stage veins. This style of mineralization is common to Pierina, Veladero and other high sulphidation epithermal deposits. Fortress currently has a 51% interest in the Svetloye Project, with the remaining 49% held by Freeport McMoRan Exploration Corporation. The Company will earn an additional 29% interest in the Svetloye Project, bringing its interest to 80% through conversion of the Exploration License to a Mining and Exploration License. This conversion is proceeding according to schedule, with the license expected in late 2007.

Mr. Thomas Bowens, M.Sc., P.Geo., Vice President of Exploration and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and verified the technical information contained in this news release. A rigorous quality control program has been instituted involving insertion of certified standards, duplicate sampling and check assaying. Samples are prepared on site or at DalGeophysical Laboratory, Khabarovsk Russia or Irgiredmet Laboratory of Irkutsk, Russia (both accredited by the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Standardization and Metrology "Gosstandart" of Russia). Assaying by fire assay and atomic absorption are performed by Irgiredmet Laboratory, Alex Stewart Labs in Moscow, Russia and by ALS Chemex, Vancouver, BC.
