Fortress Minerals Corp.: Winter Road to Svetloye Completed Ahead of Schedule, Mobilization Underway

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 1, 2007) - Fortress Minerals Corp. ("Fortress" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:FST) is pleased to announce that the winter road from Okhotsk to the Svetloye Project has been completed. Mobilization of fuel and supplies to support the planned 11,000 metre drill program and 6,000 metre trenching program is underway.

The winter road was completed on January 29th and well ahead of schedule. Mobilization of more than 1,000 tonnes of fuel and supplies to support the 2007 drilling and trenching programs is now underway with eleven Ural haul trucks engaged in the effort. In addition, two diamond core drills (of four drills planned for the 2007 program) are currently being mobilized to site from the city of Khabarovsk via MI-26 helicopter.

Ron Hochstein, President of Fortress Minerals, commented, "The completion of this years winter road ahead of schedule is a clear indication that investments in equipment and personnel made to date by the Company are paying solid dividends on the ground. The Company has made great strides in the past two years in our Russian operations having risen from a relatively unknown newcomer to both industry and government regulatory authorities, to a well known and respected minerals company in the region today."
