Franklin Elected to Ponce de Leon Board

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL--(Marketwire - May 6, 2010) -  Deborah Franklin, President of the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA), has been elected to the Board of Ponce de Leon LTC RRG, Inc., a leading provider of liability insurance to long-term care facilities in Florida, Ray Johnson, Board Chairman, announced.

Franklin is Director of Operations, Florida Living Options, operator of five long-term care facilities in central Florida. "We're especially pleased to have Deborah join our Board. She is recognized statewide as a leader in the Florida long-term care profession and will bring a wealth of experience to Ponce de Leon," Johnson said.

Formed in 2002, Ponce de Leon was the first Risk Retention Group (RRG) in the nation to provide General and Professional Liability insurance to long-term care facilities. RRGs are insurance companies owned by policyholders that are authorized under federal law when licensed in a single state to provide liability insurance in other states without additional licensing. Ponce de Leon has grown into a major provider with more than 750 facilities insured throughout Florida.

Prior to her election as President of FHCA, Franklin served as Senior Vice President and Chair of various committees. She received numerous Association awards including the Art Harris Government Services Award, Nursing Home Administrator of the Year, and FHCA's highest honor -- the Walter M. Johnson, Jr. Circle of Excellence Award. Franklin serves also as a member of the Hillsborough County Health Care Advisory Board and the Department of Elder Affairs Advisory Council.

Ponce de Leon is administered by Uni-Ter Underwriting Management Corporation of Atlanta, GA, builder and manager of RRGs that provide liability insurance to long-term care facilities nationwide.
