Fraser Papers Announces Temporary Shutdown of its NB Sawmills

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 5, 2006) - Fraser Papers Inc. (TSX:FPS) today announced the temporary shutdown of its two sawmill operations located in Plaster Rock and Juniper, New Brunswick, beginning June 17, 2006, due to weak market conditions. The company expects the shutdown to be two weeks in duration depending on market conditions. This temporary shutdown will affect approximately 340 employees.
