Fromagerie Bergeron Inc. Receives $500,000 in Funding From Government of Canada for Productivity Enhancement

SAINT-ANTOINE-DE-TILLY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2009) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbiniere-Chutes-de-la-Chaudiere, today announced that the firm Fromagerie Bergeron Inc. has been granted a $500,000 repayable contribution through the Community Adjustment Fund, a measure provided for under Canada's Economic Action Plan, to purchase specialized equipment and thereby improve its productivity.

A manufacture of fine gouda-type cheeses, Fromagerie Bergeron markets its products across Quebec and Canada and has won various national and international awards, including one from the American Cheese Society.

"This new equipment will be a sure-fire way for Fromagerie Bergeron to improve its productivity. Indeed, Canada Economic Development felt it important to support this investment in that it is being made in the agri-food industry, a priority sector for the Chaudiere-Appalaches economy, and will result in the creation of 10 quality jobs in Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly," stated Jacques Gourde.

It is precisely with the goal of promoting promising projects like this one that the Government of Canada adopted its Economic Action Plan, a series of economic stimulus measures designed to encourage investment, broaden opportunities and create jobs.
