Fujitsu Introduces Three New Consumer Desktop Replacement Multimedia Notebooks

LifeBook N6420 Notebook Features HD DVD Player and Visual Optimizer for an Amazing Entertainment Experience

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 17, 2006 -- Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation advanced its consumer notebook portfolio today announcing three new desktop replacement multimedia models, including the Fujitsu consumer flagship LifeBook® N6420 notebook featuring an HD DVD player for an exceptional sight and sound experience. Fujitsu also introduced the new LifeBook A Series -- two 15.4-inch wide mainstream notebooks offering a choice of Intel® Core™ 2 Duo or Dual Core AMD processors as well as durability features for multimedia on-the-go.

"With the growing popularity of notebooks in the consumer segment, the demand for exceptional performance and the flexibility to execute both productivity applications and entertainment is a must," said Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Systems. "The high-end LifeBook N6420 notebook and the two new LifeBook A Series mainstream notebooks offer three excellent choices that deliver an outstanding creative computing and home entertainment experience."

The Microsoft Windows Vista Premium-capable LifeBook N6420, LifeBook A3110 and LifeBook A6010 notebooks offer Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 for maximizing the digital entertainment experience. The trio deliver the reliability mobile users expect from Fujitsu, again in the top ranking for overall customer satisfaction in the 19th Annual PC Magazine reader survey.

Equipped with a large 17-inch Color Enhanced Crystal View display, the LifeBook N6420 notebook features the new Fujitsu Visual Optimizer, a special image processing subsystem that amplifies video from any source for unsurpassed sharpness and offers genuine color realization for perfect color matches. Coupled with the Fujitsu Color Enhanced Crystal View display that makes it possible to express astoundingly bright images and new HD DVD-ROM player support, the LifeBook N6420 notebook delivers a sensational visual experience. A built-in stereo sound system, complete with a subwoofer, offers equally impressive audio quality.

Advanced graphics performance and responsiveness, required for the most demanding multimedia applications is delivered by the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor and the ATI Mobility® Radeon® X1600 graphics card with 512 MB HyperMemory™. The LifeBook N6420 notebook has abundant storage capacity offering up to 400GB hard disk drive storage with dual hard drives, the largest capacity in the industry. Data is protected with an integrated fingerprint sensor for easy security and password management.

The LifeBook A Series is designed to meet the multitasking and mobile computing needs of the cost-conscious education and home markets. Both the LifeBook A6010 notebook powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and the LifeBook A3110 notebook powered by the AMD Turion™ 64 X2 processor offer impressive performance. The viewing experience is enhanced with Crystal View screen technology delivering a brighter image and richer colors.

With mobility in mind, both the LifeBook A6010 and A3110 notebooks include the Fujitsu Shock Sensor utility, an accelerometer based hard disk drive protection system that constantly monitors the notebook for any shock and vibration. If a sudden motion or excessive vibration is detected, the hard drive head is retracted to minimize the likelihood of data loss. The sensor can also be set to password-lock the storage device if motion is detected, preventing the unauthorized access of data. Durability is addressed with a spill-resistant keyboard with two layers of protection including a protective membrane and collection tray to help reduce the chances of internal components getting damaged.
