Fujitsu PRIMERGY Server Distribution Deal With Tech Data Expands Access to Complete Fujitsu Solutions for Small to Medium-Sized Businesses
Agreement Makes It Easier for Customers in the U.S. and Canada to Acquire Integrated Fujitsu Server, Storage and Software Solutions
SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - January 24, 2008) - Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today
announced that Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ: TECD), a leading IT products
distributor, will now offer IT resellers access to the complete line of
Fujitsu PRIMERGY(R) servers. The distribution agreement follows a similar
deal announced in November of 2007 regarding Fujitsu ETERNUS(R) storage
solutions, and will make it easier for small to medium-sized businesses
(SMBs) to purchase complete, integrated Fujitsu computing solutions,
including PRIMERGY servers, ETERNUS Storage Area Networks (SANs), storage
virtualization, and software products through Tech Data's broad reseller
network in the U.S. and Canada.
"More and more customers are demanding the kind of fully integrated,
high-performance, reliable, and eco-friendly solutions that only Fujitsu
can provide," said Richard McCormack, senior vice president of marketing
for Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation. "This agreement will make our
solutions far more accessible to the burgeoning SMB market. Tech Data fully
understands that integrated, market-specific solutions are the key to
allowing SMBs to cost-effectively overcome their most complex computing and
business challenges."
Fujitsu offers a complete line of PRIMERGY tower, rack, and blade servers,
from single processor servers for small offices to 16-processor systems
intended for enterprise database or large scale server consolidation
through virtualization. Whether the need is for affordable entry-level
servers, compact and scalable blade systems, or advanced multiprocessor
servers capable of handling the most demanding data center applications,
the PRIMERGY line delivers a highly reliable x86 architecture with
rock-solid design and industry-leading performance for Windows(R)- and
LINUX-based applications. Fujitsu ETERNUS storage solutions are solving
customers' storage challenges, from managing Microsoft(R) Exchange Server
migrations and the consolidation of massive email volumes, to ensuring
business continuity and efficient disaster recovery, to reducing power
consumption and footprint in the data center.
"The latest industry-standard server and storage solutions -- like the
Fujitsu PRIMERGY and ETERNUS lines -- are enabling resellers to deliver
more cost-effective and versatile data centers to end users ranging from
SMBs to large enterprises," said Pete Peterson, senior vice president and
general manager, Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Tech Data. "Tech Data
established its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Division to help
resellers capitalize on that opportunity. Through our AIS Division, Tech
Data will support Fujitsu PRIMERGY server and ETERNUS storage resellers
with dedicated sales and technical support resources."
