Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in Canada: Former Commander of U.S. Special Operations Delta Force Keynote Convention Speaker

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 27, 2009) -

In 1978, Jerry Boykin joined what would become the premier U.S. Special Operations unit, Delta Force. He embarked on a journey of bringing down warlords, war criminals, and dictators including Pablo Escobar and Manuel Noriega. One Special Operation, the infamous Battle of Mogadishu, was featured in the movie "Black Hawk Down".

His illustrious military career includes participating in almost all of the US special operations since 1979 including the Desert One hostage rescue attempt in Iran in 1980, Panama in 1989, and the invasion of Granada in 1983. He served at the Central intelligence Agency as the Deputy Director of Special Activities and was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. General Boykin's recent autobiography, "Never Surrender", chronicles his 36 years in the US Military and reads like an action adventure novel. He retired from military service in August 2007.

Lt. General Boykin is the keynote speaker for the Saturday Gala Banquet for the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship (FGBMF) National Convention in Calgary, November 14th, 2009. He will be sharing his powerful, riveting story of how his military duty worked in tandem with his faith to bring him through the storms of foreign battle, combat injuries and personal political firestorm in his own nation.

"We are pleased to have General Boykin along with an exciting lineup of other international and national speakers for this Canadian conference" says Ron Hutzal, National President. "It is especially meaningful to have General Boykin speak during the week honoring Remembrance Day."

This annual event attracts several hundred people from different faith streams and walks of life. The speakers share inspiring life stories and teachings that challenge the listener and offer hope, direction and answers to some of life's compelling questions.

In addition to Gen. Boykin the convention will feature:

Bob Harrison - Bob is a dynamic conference speaker and best selling author. His life-changing teachings have been shared with thousands of seminar groups, churches, conferences, corporations and television audiences worldwide.

Serge Leclerc - Serge survived mistreatment, imprisonment, unimaginable abuse and despair to become a man respected by many. He currently serves as an elected member of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly. His story inspires individuals to make the choices needed to overcome the darkness of personal tragedy and pain.

Pat Torgerson - Pat has been a woman of influence for most of her life. Her mentorship, support and encouragement have helped many women rise to their full potential. Pat's steady faith has been an anchor through many personal, marital, parenting, and financial adventures.

Gordon Klassen- Gordon is the chief operations officer for Canada's first Christian television station CJIL-TV (The Miracle Channel), in Lethbridge, Alberta which is seen across North America on cable and satellite, and globally online.
