Garda to Hire 400 Additional Airport Screening Officers to Meet Demand for Enhanced Security Measures on U.S. Flights

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA--(Marketwire - Jan. 20, 2010) - Garda Security Group, a subsidiary of Garda World Security Corporation (TSX:GW) (Garda), one of the most trusted cash logistics, physical security and global risk consulting firms in the world, announced today it is seeking 400 qualified applicants for the position of Airport Screening Officer at airports the company services throughout Canada as part of a recruitment effort by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) to meet the increased requirement in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria, and Kelowna airports.

Airport Pre-board Screening Officers are responsible for security screening of passengers and carry-on baggage in a courteous and respectful manner. They are trained to stringently screen for prohibited and/or dangerous items in the airport pre-boarding process. All pre-board Screening Officers are security cleared and rigorously trained in a formal program of continuous improvement throughout their careers.

Applicants will be screened by Garda and are required to obtain government security clearances before beginning training. While in training, the Recruit Screening Officers will work at airports under escort and supervision.
