Gardere Adds Director of Electronic Discovery

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - November 24, 2008) - Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP announces David C. Grant has joined Gardere's Houston office as Director of Electronic Discovery. He will work with members of the firm's Electronic Discovery Group in servicing client needs, and growing the depth and breadth of Gardere's expertise in this area.

Mr. Grant is a well-respected legal practitioner, author and speaker on electronic discovery, with extensive experience in this area in both private practice and in-house. He obtained his experience in all aspects of electronic discovery over the course of the past than ten years, first at a former Fortune 5 energy company and at the world's largest retailer.

"David will lead the firm's electronic discovery integration processes to address the often times overwhelming demands placed on our clients," said Steve Good, Gardere's managing partner. "A systematic approach, both pre- and post-lawsuit, has become increasingly important in order to effectively manage electronic discovery issues and related processes."

Mr. Grant is a member of the Electronic Document Retention and Production group for The Sedona Conference, which is charged with developing principles and best practices recommendations for electronic document retention and production.

He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and received a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Mr. Grant is licensed to practice in Texas and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern District of Texas.
