Garson Gold Continues to Enhance New Britannia Mine Property, Drilling Intersects High-Grade Gold

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2007) - GARSON GOLD CORP. (TSX VENTURE:GG) ("Garson Gold") is pleased to announce that assays have been received from five diamond drill holes completed at the 100% owned New Britannia Mine property ("NBM") located in Snow Lake, Manitoba. The holes are part of the ongoing diamond drilling and evaluation of the NBM No. 3 Zone. Significant intersections are summarized in Table 1 below:

Garson Gold has completed a total of 10,065 metres (m) (33,020 feet) of diamond drilling on the NBM No. 3 Zone during 2007. The drill program has tested selected targets within and adjacent to the NBM No. 3 (Main) Zone resource as well as exploring down plunge (To view attached long section please click on the following link: http://www.ccnmatthews.com/docs/GarsonMap.pdf). Interpretation of the drilling results to date suggests a body of mineralization with a north-east plunge, consistent with the shape and orientation of mineralization up-dip at NBM No. 3 (Main) Zone and at the New Britannia Main Mine. Intersections from current drilling include 11.79 g/t gold over 4.18 m (0.34 opt gold over 13.7 feet) in hole ZN030727. The NBM No. 3 (Main) Zone is open for expansion to the west and down dip. Continued drilling will be testing the western extent of mineralization and to a vertical depth of approximately 550 m (1,800 feet).

In addition to testing the NBM No. 3 (Main) Zone, drilling continues to intersect multiple gold mineralized structures including 18.51 g/t gold over 4.5 m (0.54 opt gold over 14.8 feet) in the No. 3 (Hangingwall) Zone in hole ZN030726. Previously reported intersections from the No. 3 (Hangingwall) Zone include 7.36 g/t gold over 2.38 m (0.21 opt gold over 7.8 feet) in hole ZN030709 (Garson Gold news release July 12, 2007). The significance and continuity of the No. 3 (Hangingwall) zone is currently being evaluated by Garson Gold.

The NBM No. 3 Zone is located approximately 1.5 kilometres north of the historical New Britannia Gold Mine. Past gold production from the NBM No. 3 Zone totaled approximately 30,000 ounces of gold (219,000 tonnes at an average grade of 4.32 g/t). The current 43-101 inferred resource at No. 3 Zone is 50,000 ounces gold (220,000 tonnes at an average grade of 7.10 g/t) (Micon International, October 2006).

Jamie Lavigne, M.Sc., P.Geo and Vice President Exploration for Garson Gold, is the Qualified Person under NI 43-101 responsible for the verification and quality assurance of the NBM exploration data and analytical results. Gold concentrations are determined on half core at TSL Laboratories in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan using conventional sample preparation and assay techniques. For details of sampling and analytical procedures used on the NBM project, please refer to the April 18, 2007 news release which can be viewed at www.garsongold.ca.

ABOUT THE NEW BRITANNIA MINE

The New Britannia Mine (NBM) Project covers approximately 3,900 hectares and hosts the historic New Britannia Gold Mine which operated from 1949 to 1958 and again from 1995 to 2004 and produced approximately 1.43 million ounces of gold. The current resource estimate at the NBM property audited by Micon International Ltd. to NI 43-101 standards is available for viewing on Sedar (www.sedar.com) and www.garsongold.ca.
