Gemini/Silver Shield Commences Drilling at La Cumbre Gold & Silver Property in Mexico

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 17, 2008) - Gemini Acquisitions Inc. (TSX VENTURE:GQI) (also known as Silver Shield Resources Inc. as part of its RTO and hereafter referred to as "Silver Shield" or "the Company") today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Silver Shield Resources C.A. de C.V has commenced a 2,500-metre drill program on the Company's La Cumbre silver, gold and copper property, which is located in Guerrero state of Mexico, approximately 200 km northwest of Acapulco. This will be the first diamond drilling ever completed at La Cumbre Concession.

The La Cumbre Project is operated by the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Silver Shield Resources S.A. de C.V. The first ten diamond drill holes will target the mail El Condor vein in an area near the old workings where an underground sampling program by Consejo de Recursos Minerales in 1989 returned an average of 518 g/t silver and 5.30g/t gold with additional minor copper grades over an average of 1.3 metres from 48 samples. The first two holes will be below the 50 metre deep shaft.

Line cutting and soil sampling is ongoing with 11 km of grid lines having been cut and 9 km of soil sampling completed with a total of over 400 samples having been taken and shipped for analyses. Construction is proceeding on year-round camp facilities consisting of a kitchen, sleeping quarters and office. Fenced in, the new permanent camp will facilitate core logging and cutting on site, and support project exploration well into the future. Improved access to a year-round source of water is progressing as a bulldozer is constructing a new road to the Ispiritu River. Water is a critical resource for drilling in the dry season.

Management is excited to have located several new mineralized pits on the La Cumbre concessions, largely in part due to the good rapport with the local people. These old pits are not shown on government maps and probably date back to the early 20th century or older.

It is the company's belief that this largely unexplored area of Mexico will yield many more opportunities for growth in conjunction with the contacts gained in this area.

Management is also encouraged by the supportive cooperation and positive progress they have had with local leaders and governmental agencies. The Company has had discussions with the local Ejida of Ispiritu and the Presidente of the Municipality of Ajuchitlan. The Company has entered into agreements with the Municipal President where the Company pays for the diesel and wages in support of road repairs and construction. The Municipality has agreed to supply the grader needed for maintenance on the last 24 km of road to the La Cumbre Project. The road work in and around La Cumbre benefits the Company, and its workers as well as local residents in obvious ways. Not only in the saving of travel time and improving road capacity and safety (the route from Ajuchitlan is a windy mountain road) but also by supporting the economy of the mountain communities by making it easier for residents to get their produce, and supplies to and from, market. The Municipality of Ajuchitlan will also embark on paving the first 20 kilometers of the main road to the La Cumbre Project starting in February.

In addition, the Municipality will also be supplying a D-8 Bulldozer, with the same terms for the Company paying for the wages and diesel of the equipment, to extend the road at La Cumbre northwesterly by approximately 8 km to connect with an existing road near the community of Ispiritu. This stage of the road work will probably start late in February and will allow for even better access to La Cumbre for men that live in that area, which is a bigger labour pool for the Company.
