General Colin Powell Addresses Industry Leaders at TANDBERG Executive Forum

NEW YORK, NY and OSLO, NORWAY--(Marketwire - November 4, 2009) - TANDBERG today kicked off its first TANDBERG Executive Forum with special guest host General Colin L. Powell USA (Ret.) invited to speak on "Leadership: Taking Charge." Using TANDBERG's Telepresence T3 executive rooms, an exclusive group of executives from the private and public sectors gathered for a compelling speech on being a leader during a time of great change and crisis, followed by a virtual roundtable and open dialogue on the topic.

One of the most admired men in America, the Honorable Colin L. Powell has been a leader for most of his life, having led troops as a military leader, as chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff and as Secretary of State. But Gen. Powell believes a leader is more than just his or her title. Drawing on examples garnered from experience as both a leader on the world stage and as eyewitness to leadership in action, Gen. Powell illustrates for audiences precisely what it takes to be a leader, providing strategies for "taking charge" during times of great change and great crises. Gen. Powell demonstrates how to remain focused, take responsibility and work towards improving processes, organizations and people.

"Leadership requires focus, responsibility and work during times of crisis and change," said Larry Satterfield, President, Americas Commercial Sector, TANDBERG. "At TANDBERG, we share this philosophy and strive to help organizations evolve to a new way of working. Face-to-face communication provides business leaders with the opportunity to stay connected to their staff, make decisions at the speed of thought and bring experts into a meeting at a moment's notice. With telepresence and video conferencing technology, businesses and agencies can improve communication lines and processes to become leaders in their respected fields."

"Gen. Powell's words about leadership were inspiring," said Joel Brunson, President of TANDBERG's Public Secor practice. "TANDBERG has the unique challenge of leading change in the way people communicate, and video enables this new way of working across every agency, office, school, and hospital in the world."

The TANDBERG Executive Forum is designed to bring together senior executives from both public and private organizations to develop stronger leadership skills and exchange ideas on contemporary topics. Powered by TANDBERG's Telepresence technology, attendees across the country will be connected to share information on important current issues and foster networking relationships at exclusive invitation-only events hosted at one of the TANDBERG offices.
