General Motors of Canada September Sales

Non-adjusted Sales Results - September 2007 had 25 selling days versus 26 selling days in September 2006

OSHAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 2, 2007) - For September 2007, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered a total of 33,387 vehicles, down 6.4% from the same month last year.

Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service, and marketing said, "September was a challenging month in a highly competitive industry. While our overall sales were not where we needed them to be, our retail sales have held strong calendar year to date as we continue to carefully manage the level of daily rental sales and focus on the value and features our cars and trucks offer consumers. These results are driven by the strength of our recently launched products like the new crossover vehicles (GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook) that continue to gain momentum."

"We also continue to see solid gains from small cars," Comeau added. "The sporty Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 performed well in September and the Saturn Aura saw sales double this month versus its launch a year ago. We are looking forward to an exciting fall with the Cadillac CTS and all-new Saturn Vue in GM showrooms today and the Chevrolet Malibu to follow this month."
