George Jones Named Editor-in-Chief of Future US, Inc.'s Maximum PC Magazine

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - April 15, 2010) -  Future US, the special-interest media company, today announced it has selected George Jones as Editor-in-Chief of Maximum PC Magazine, one of the best-selling and most read sources of PC news, product reviews and how-to stories that every computer geek, PC gamer, or content creator craves.

A seasoned gaming and technology editor, Jones brings 15 years experience in the industry as Editorial Director, GamePro Media; online and print editor for Ziff Davis Media publications at Gamers.com, Computer Gaming World and CNET.com; as well as his previous role as Editor-in-Chief of Maximum PC. In his career, Jones has contributed to hundreds of product reviews, PC-building stories, video game analysis and managed editorial design, staff and production.

Jones will lead the magazine beginning with the July 2010 issue that will hit the stands in mid-May. As Editor-in-Chief, Jones will oversee all creative aspects of the magazine, website and podcast, including editorial content, design and disc production. As the authority in PC hardware, software reviews and news, Jones and his editorial staff are committed to providing top value to readers through annual features like how to build the ultimate PC "dream machine" and tech previews on the latest gear from Intel, NVIDIA, AMD and other key hardware companies.

Proof that Maximum PC already delivers content readers want, Maximum PC was recently listed as one of the top 100 most profitable magazines sold by Barnes & Nobles. The report evaluated all of its 5,327 publications sold at the store from June 2009 to March 2010. All of Future US' technology and video game titles were in the top 100, stacking up very well against the competition in this critical retail chain.

"I'm excited to build upon Maximum PC's strong editorial platform to help readers get the most out of their PC each day in work and play through exclusive content and valuable insight, all from an expert user perspective," said Jones. "We're going to open tech enthusiasts' eyes with an interesting and surprising combination of how-to stories, technology previews, and an increased number of product reviews. We'll also be significantly ramping up our online presence and engaging the online community in some unique ways."

"We are excited to have George return to Future to develop the cutting-edge technology stories for one of our top-selling publications and fast-growing websites," said Jon Phillips, Future US Editorial Director.

When he's not testing the newest technology product or playing games, Jones can often be found at www.twitter.com/lizzunchbox.
