Georgia Virtual Technical College Chooses the ANGEL Learning Management Suite

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - August 12, 2008) - ANGEL Learning, recognized innovator of enterprise course management software and services, today announced that the Georgia Virtual Technical College (GVTC) has selected the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) as the platform for Georgia's thirty-three technical colleges and one Board of Regents college to deliver online, hybrid and web-enhanced instruction. Features exclusive to the ANGEL LMS and responsive ANGEL support were pivotal to the GVTC decision to switch from the system it originally licensed to ANGEL.

According to Cathy Brock, director of the Georgia Virtual Technical College, "ANGEL Learning is the best fit for our students, instructors and coordinators because ANGEL Learning provides us with the latest in learning management system technology as well as an extremely proactive technical support team that manages our implementation issues very expediently. In addition, our instructors are extremely excited about the added features and functionality that are now accessible to them and their students. ANGEL Learning best suits our stakeholders' needs and will serve us well into the future."

ANGEL Learning's responsive support is illustrated in the speed with which the company successfully migrated GVTC's schools to the ANGEL LMS. Working in close cooperation, in a short, two-week time frame, GVTC and ANGEL Learning successfully:

-- Migrated 5,000 courses to the ANGEL LMS.
-- Activated 81,000 enrollments in 7,450 course sections.
-- Created integrations for each of the 33 technical college's Student
Information Systems and the ANGEL LMS.

"Georgia Virtual Technical College is the latest in a series of significant large-scale migrations to the ANGEL LMS," said Christopher Clapp, president and CEO, ANGEL Learning. "GVTC's successful and rapid migration to ANGEL illustrates how much can be accomplished when the customer's needs take priority. The GVTC and ANGEL Learning teams worked well together to achieve these results in an extraordinarily short time frame."

Georgia Virtual Technical College (GVTC) provides centralized administration for the online instruction delivered by Georgia's technical colleges. This online initiative removes barriers to learning by making online courses that do not require any on-campus time available any time, any place there is an internet connection. Hybrid courses split instruction between traditional face-to-face and online instruction. The accessibility to education GVTC enables makes the kind of education today's business and industry want and need readily available to residents of the State of Georgia.
