GetWellNetwork Gives Kids the Ultimate Online Experience in New Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwire - March 29, 2010) -  GetWellNetwork, Inc. today announced that its industry leading interactive patient care solution for kids called GetWell Town™ is now deployed in the new Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children. GetWell Town's fun and child-friendly design helps to engage children and their families in the learning process, enabling them to become knowledgeable and comfortable with the medical needs and recovery regimens of the child.

Using GetWell Town, children and their families can easily learn about their health condition, fill their prescription orders, check their emails, watch the latest movies and access the internet. Parents also have the option to turn off certain entertainment content by using the parental control feature -- just like they would at home. Parents and children are also using the "feedback" feature of the system to write notes of appreciation and other helpful comments, which the hospital uses to improve patient satisfaction.

"The goal of our hospital is to provide the very best care for our young patients and their families, and GetWell Town truly helps us meet that goal," said Marla Silliman, administrator of Florida Hospital for Children. "Children today are accustomed to learning through the computer, and GetWell Town at their bedside provides them with opportunities to learn about their health, interact with their caregivers, and make their stay as home-like as possible."

"This new Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children exceeds all expectations," said Michael O'Neil, CEO of GetWellNetwork, Inc. "This hospital not only provides excellent health care, but it also continues to nurture the imagination of children during their hospital stay and we're thrilled that GetWell Town is a part of that solution."

GetWell Town is currently installed in general patient rooms, the intensive care unit and the pulmonary care unit. In the coming weeks, GetWell Town will be deployed in the remaining units to complete the hospital-wide installation. GetWellNetwork also provides interactive patient care systems for adults in six other Adventist Health System facilities: Florida Hospital Flagler, Florida Hospital Memorial, Florida Hospital Altamonte, Florida Hospital East Orlando, Florida Hospital Orlando, and Park Ridge hospital in Fletcher, NC.
