Ghada Gebara to Head Digicel's French-Speaking Caribbean Operations

Haiti CEO Adds French West Indies and French Guiana to Portfolio; Patrice Pezat Appointed CEO of Digicel Haiti

KINGSTON, JAMAICA--(Marketwire - October 8, 2007) - Digicel Group, the largest mobile operator in the Caribbean and new entrant to Central America, today announced the promotion of Ms. Ghada Gebara, former CEO of Digicel Haiti, as the new regional CEO to lead Digicel's French Caribbean operations: Haiti, French West Indies and French Guiana, into their next stage of dynamic growth.

Appointed as the new CEO of Digicel Haiti, Mr. Patrice Pezat will report to Ghada Gebara, who will share her time between Haiti, Martinique, Guadeloupe and French Guiana. Digicel Haiti has acquired 1.7 million customers since launching in May 2006 and is the fastest-growing operation amongst Digicel Group's 22 markets.

Digicel launched in Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana in July 2006 following the acquisition of Bouygues Telecom Caraibe. Coverage areas also include St. Barths and French St. Martin.

As CEO, Ghada Gebara -- who joined Digicel Haiti in August 2005 -- led the operations through a phenomenally successful launch and first year of growth. Prior to joining Digicel Haiti, Ghada Gebara held senior positions with Asiacell, a major mobile phone provider in Iraq, and CELLIS (France Telecom Mobile Lebanon) in Beirut, Lebanon.

Patrice Pezat brings 10 years' experience working in the Caribbean and African mobile markets. Most recently, he held the position of CEO of Orange Madagascar. Previously he held the position of vice president of sales and marketing at Orange Dominican Republic and product manager at France Telecom French West Indies.

Digicel continues to expand its senior management team in Haiti with several important promotions. Ms. Sophia Stransky has been appointed as head of distribution and Ms. Tatiana Policard as head of marketing. The new appointments further demonstrate the company's continued commitment to local employee development.
