Gingerbread Families will Help Real Families

Good Earth raises $ for Habitat for Humanity

Attention: City Editor, Food/Beverage Editor, Lifestyle Editor CALGARY/ALBERTA/MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - Nov. 16, 2009) - Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery has launched a sweet holiday campaign to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.

Beginning November 12th and for a limited time only, all of Good Earth's 24 Cafés will sell seasonal packages of fabulous fresh-baked gingerbread families. $1 from the sale of each gingerbread family will go to Habitat for Humanity. Each package includes two "adult" people and one "child", and costs $5.95 each.

"Our gingerbread families are a delicious and homey holiday treat," says Nan Eskenazi, co-founder of Good Earth. "They are the perfect way for Good Earth to raise money for the good work done by Habitat for Humanity in building affordable homes for families that need them. They also make a delightful gift."

Seasonal beverages like Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte and Red Americano Misto are also available for a limited time.

In all communities in which it operates, Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery focuses its support on local efforts related to the environment and families. Its 2009 Earth Day promotion raised $7500 for the David Suzuki Foundation.
