Global Clean Energy Inc. Begins Performance Testing of the World's First Hybrid Steam-Reforming Gasifier

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - December 11, 2009) - Global Clean Energy Inc. (OTCBB: GCEI) has commenced performance testing of its steam-reforming gasifier, the world's first hybrid system with the capacity to reform organic feedstock (coal, plastic, rubber, Municipal Solid Waste), industrial waste and toxic waste into synthetic gas that can be used or transformed into liquid fuels. The testing is being done through its research partner, Vision Capital Research.

According to Dr. Earl Azimov, GCEI President, the GCEI gasifier can turn any carbon-rich material into energy using a clean production process. Its ability to convert organic and industrial waste as well as everyday garbage into fuel is revolutionary.

The gasifier's clean conversion system is superior to conventional incineration technology because it produces minimal emissions and pollutants as well as usable fuel. Its hybrid design enables it to use different energy sources (syngas, natural gas and/or electricity) to start and operate the system. Its portability makes testing and operation economical, which is critical to fulfilling GCEI's mission to be a premier supplier of waste-to-energy conversion solutions that Reform Environmental Salvage into Clean Useable Energy (R.E.S.C.U.E™).

Testing of the combustion-based/steam-reforming gasifier will be conducted in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Qc. as the first step in a venture with the City of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Five years of research and development will continue once the gasifier has been moved from its present home at Cascades Engineering in Kingsey Falls, Qc. to Les Industries MJR in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. "Our close association with Cascades Engineering will continue," explained Philip Azimov, GCEI's Chief Scientific Officer, "but we are also very excited about this new partnership for this important testing phase."
