Global Conferencing Services Market to Exceed $US4.5 Billion in 2010

New Report Shows Web Conferencing to Lead Growth as Video Bridging Lags

DUXBURY, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 6, 2006 -- Wainhouse Research today announced complete availability of its three volume, Rich Media Conferencing Report Series, 2006 Forecast Update. Released today was the forecast update for the third volume, "The Services Industry; Audio, Video, and Web Conferencing Services." Volume 3 is an in-depth study of the video, audio, web conferencing, and streaming media services available to support enterprise conferencing applications. It shows global conferencing services growing at a 5% CAGR to exceed $US4.5 Billion in 2010. Double-digit growth of 11% is forecast for web conferencing, while video bridging is seen to drop by over 8%.

“One of the major trends will be growth of new markets and services associated with the enterprise deployment of Unified Communications,” said Marc Beattie, Sr. Analyst with Wainhouse Research and primary author of Volume 3. “A powerful combination of emerging markets in the Asia Pacific arena plus the worldwide deployment of VoIP integrated into corporate information systems will dramatically change how services are bought, deployed, and used.”

Volume 1 of Wainhouse Research's annual three-part study covers multimedia networking infrastructure and Volume 2 covers conferencing endpoint products and technologies. Updates for these volumes were released earlier in the year. The 2006 Volume 3 update is a companion to the complete 2005 report and is based on data collected by Wainhouse Research from several dozen vendors who shared proprietary revenue figures. The forecast update, with 27 pages and 31 figures, includes a detailed five-year forecast for three different conferencing service types (audio, web, video) in three different geographic regions (North America, Asia Pacific, Europe).

The Volume 3, "The Services Industry; Audio, Video, and Web Conferencing Services" update is available as an individual report or a bundle with Volumes 1 & 2 -- providing a complete sizing and forecast of the collaboration and conferencing market. Details of all three volumes, including executive summaries and tables of contents, are available on the company's web site at http://www.wainhouse.com/reports/rmc2006.html.
