Global Ecology and the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center to Establish Medical Compound in Haiti to Assist Earthquake Victims

MONTCLAIR, NJ--(Marketwire - January 21, 2010) - Global Ecology Corporation (PINKSHEETS: GLEC) and the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center (JRMC) have announced plans to create a self-sustained medical compound in the outskirts of Port-Au-Prince to help victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Together they have secured a large parcel of privately owned land next to the U.S. Consulate close to a river on which the compound will be set up. The compound is intended to handle more than 100 patients simultaneously and will have the capacity to provide all forms of medical assistance. JRMC has already begun sending physicians and supplies to Haiti and will continue to do so over the coming weeks as the compound is established. In addition, the JRMC has been asked to assist in the coordination of all medical services offered to the Haitian consulate in New Jersey.

GEC Chairman Joe Battiato said, "In support of the effort to build this compound, Global Ecology Corporation will supply a self contained water purification unit. This unit is both solar and diesel powered and will make use of the nearby river water. The unit has the ability to eliminate all forms of organic contamination while providing in excess of 50,000 gallons of potable water daily. We plan to provide more mobile water units to Haiti as additional funding is secured."

Dr. Alan Goldsmith, Founder/President of the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center, is directing the effort to assemble the hospital. Goldsmith, who is in touch with doctors already in Haiti, said the situation is 10 times worse than the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina. "It's been very, very difficult. A lot of surgeons are still needed and there are not a lot of hospitals available to them," he said.

Dr. Goldsmith and U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey are scheduled fly to Haiti to launch the project. They hope to bring back badly injured children to the United States for medical treatment. Sen. Lautenberg is assisting the group's effort with government clearances and logistical support.

Battiato said, "While we are working directly with the Haitian Consulate the ultimate success and impact of this project depends on our ability to get it properly funded. Anyone wishing to contribute to this effort is encouraged to contact Jenifer Crutchfield at the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center. Her number is 732-841-8388. Her email address is"
