Goodman Marketing Partners Wins DMA International ECHO Awards for TANDBERG and KCSM Campaigns

SAN RAFAEL, CA--(Marketwire - October 28, 2009) - Goodman Marketing Partners (GMP), a full service direct marketing company, announced today it has received two 2009 Direct Marketing Association International ECHO Awards for its work for global video conferencing provider TANDBERG, and San Mateo, CA-based public radio station KCSM-FM. Considered "the Oscar®" of direct marketing and a coveted industry honor, the ECHO is the only comprehensive international direct marketing award program recognizing excellence in strategic thinking, creativity and results.

GMP received an ECHO Leader award for TANDBERG in the Information Technologies category, Business-to-Business, and one for KCSM-FM in the Not-For-Profit category, Business-to-Consumer.

These selections were judged by direct marketing experts and verified by the ECHO committee, a group of senior members of the direct marketing community. Every year over 1,000 entries are submitted for the International ECHO Awards from all over the world.

GMP's fully integrated marketing campaign for TANDBERG targeted C-level executives at companies in health care, utilities, financial services and manufacturing sectors and was designed to demonstrate how video conferencing solutions could decrease travel costs and improve employee productivity through a 4-part direct mail series, online media, and guaranteed lead program. In one initiative titled "The Journal," executives received a faux personal diary of one of their employees, purportedly found in the seatback pocket of an airplane. It contained a myriad of receipts, scribbled reminders and a daily journal of a day-in-the-life of a harried business traveler. The campaign made the point that using TANDBERG high-definition video conferencing would eliminate this employee's need for travel while increasing his or her job satisfaction and performance level.

Also receiving an ECHO Leader award was a direct mail campaign that GMP created for KCSM-FM. The package offered loyal listeners a unique "Jazz Legends" T-shirt that included their name listed alongside famous jazz greats with a donation that was twice the normal "ask." With response significantly above industry averages, the effort increased the jazz station's fundraising yield with a 204% Return on Investment.
