Gravy Train Rolls With Ford at the Table

Mayoral Candidate Rossi Says Appalling Decisions at Final City Council Meeting Proves Ford Will Be a Failure as Mayor -- Shows Need for Real Outsider at City Hall

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 26, 2010) - City Council's decision to pay more than $140,000 in legal fees of two councillors despite being told it is illegal shows the isolation of Rob Ford on council and the need for a real outsider at City Hall, said Toronto mayoral candidate Rocco Rossi.

"City Hall, including Rob Ford, showed itself out of touch with Torontonians yesterday," said Rossi. "Ford did not win that vote yesterday because he has been a weak councillor and he will be a weak mayor. What we saw yesterday was the final triumph of career politicians taking root at City Hall. It's been more than 100 years since Toronto elected a mayor who wasn't already on council or a career politician. We need to break the cycle and send a complete outsider to City Hall."
